Hook Norton Brewery is one of the Cotswolds’ most characterful food-and-drink visits. The tall Victorian tower still anchors the village and the brewery continues to make traditional cask ales on site. A guided tour explains the malt, water, yeast and gravity-fed brewing process before finishing with a tasting.
Book a tour ahead and allow time for the brewery shop or a pint at the Pear Tree Farmhouse. Because the brewery is a working site, tours involve stairs and sensible footwear. It is an easy addition to a north Cotswolds day around Chipping Campden, Blockley or the Windrush villages.
