Rodborough Common is a broad National Trust downland above Stroud, valued for wildflowers, butterflies and expansive valley views.
What to expect
Use the commons for a short ridge walk or connect it with the Cotswold Way. The Winstones Ice Cream stop is a local favourite in warmer months; bring binoculars and keep dogs close to grazing animals.

Open access countryside all year. There are no toilets on the common, and weather can make the exposed paths rough.

Rodborough Common is most rewarding when you treat it as a small piece of the landscape rather than a race to a viewpoint. Notice the changes in surface, light and sound as the route moves between streets, field edges, woodland or open ground.
