The Cotswolds Distillery gives you a look behind the bottles rather than a quick tasting at the bar. The tour follows the stills, mash tun and cask stores, explaining how local barley, limestone water and long maturation shape the whisky and gin. Tastings are generous and the shop is useful for gifts or bottles you will not find everywhere.
Reserve a tour in advance and plan a designated driver or taxi for tastings. The visitor centre sits outside the village, so it works best as part of a planned north Cotswolds route. If you are short on time, the shop and cocktail bar still make a worthwhile stop, subject to the day’s opening hours.
